Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

The greenish-yellow, tubular flowers appear from June to July. They grow to about 3 - 4 cm in size and are pleasantly fragrant.

The blue-violet, oval fruits of Billardiera longiflora are particularly decorative. These appear from August and are medium sized.
