Care
- Excess water must be able to drain away easily and waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.
- Airy locations, loose planting and appropriate fertilisation prevent mildew. Over-fertilisation increases susceptibility. Watering in the early morning hours allows the leaves to dry out more quickly and fungal spores have less chance of germinating. Very susceptible varieties can be treated preventively with commercially available preparations.
- As soon as temperatures no longer fall below 5°C, even at night, this plant can also be taken outside. A shower with lukewarm water will remove dust and revitalise your favourite. A semi-shady spot out of direct sunlight is best to prevent leaf damage. If necessary, the plant can also be repotted outdoors in spring, which saves cleaning work indoors.
- Regular watering in summer is particularly important. Morning or evening is the best time for this. Watering should also be done slowly and, if possible, not over the flowers and leaves.
Flower
The pink-coloured, funnel-shaped flowers are double and appear from April to November.
